179 Years ago Today, the Alamo and all of the Defenders Fell

Today, the Alamo fell to the Mexican Army under the command of General Santa Ana.

After holding off a far numerically superior army for 13 days the final assault began shortly after midnight. Using darkness and a calm the Mexican army crept close to the Alamo, and at approximately 0530 began the final assault. By 0630 all the Texican forces, defenders of liberty were dead.

The Texas defenders and Army, however, won the war 6 weeks later as Gen. Sam Houston defeated Gen. Santa Ana and his army at San Jacinto, TX.

VA Health Care system to allow veterans to go to private providers

VA’s Benefits Phone: 1-800-827-1000

Several years ago the VA lumped all VA Regional Offices into 8 call centers to handle all the calls from anywhere in the nation.

Because you may think you are talking to your Regional Office, I wanted to explain what you need to know about this number:

What calling 1-800-827-1000, mean to you. Let’s say you are calling the Benefits line at 1-800-827-1000, from San Diego, CA. The assumption is you think you are calling the Regional Office handling your claim, correct? Wrong.

Doolittle Raiders – April 18, 1942

Commemorating the 72nd Anniversary of the Doolittle Raid on Tokyo

Seventy-two years ago today, on 18 April 1942, 80 crew members in 16 B-25 aircraft flying off of the USS Hornet demonstrated to Japan that it was vulnerable to American air attack. Lt. Col. Jimmy Doolittle’s remarkable and daring raid provided a vital morale boost and opportunity for U.S. retaliation after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941.

Our Past Defines Our Future

At the Law Office of Robert B. Goss, P.C., www.attorneyforveterans.com, we have been going through a transition. Changes are sometimes very good, and in this case our changes are very good.

The biggest change has been the addition of the newest member of our staff. That member is me! My name is Hans Goss, and I am a U.S. Army veteran. I was in the U.S. Army for four and a half years, and served as an Airborne Infantryman in the 82nd Airborne. My deployments were to Haiti and Iraq. I am very proud of my service to our country, and like everyone at the Law Office of Robert B. Goss, P.C. https://www.attorneyforveterans.com/lawyer-attorney-1303353.html, I am a veteran or a dependent of a veteran. I am currently working towards becoming a lawyer. As it stands I am a proud member of this law firm dedicated to helping all veterans in every way I can. I will also be leading the Firms blogs from the position of a new veteran, with the goal of providing insight into the VA system that is not only helpful, but easy to navigate.

Today’s blog will begin with the story of how the Law Office of Robert B. Goss, P.C., www.attorneyforveterans.com, came to be and how we will proceed in the future.

Necessary Upgrade to the B-52

The majority of clients of The Law Office of Robert B. Goss, P.C., https://www.attorneyforveterans.com are veterans. Veterans enlisted and served to protect America, and our allies.

Veterans and service-members know freedom and liberty are NOT free. Service members who protect the nation need modern weapons to protect the country and those who assume no harm will ever come to the U,S.

The USAF has launched another moderination program for the workhorse B-52. Those who oppose it do so for their gain. The arguments I have read against this upgrade program ring selfish to me. Every opposing post I have read essentially stated this was a waste of money we could better use to support [fill in the blank for a social welfare program].
